XLNTY BV would be the data controller for any personal data processed through the app within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679, "GDPR") — however, as set out below, the app processes none.
02 In short
03 How you can get this app
This app exists in three forms. They are the same app, delivered three different ways.
- Android — installed from Google Play.
- iOS — installed from the Apple App Store.
- Web (PWA) — opened directly at ablesk.apps.xlnty.com in a browser.
The web version is a progressive web app. You use it simply by visiting the address; there is no store and no account. You may optionally install it, which places an icon on your home screen and stores a complete copy of the app on your device. Once installed it runs entirely offline and needs no connection to work. It does not update itself in the background: checking for a new version is something you do deliberately, using the "Vérifier les mises à jour" / "Controleren op updates" button in the menu, and that check is the only moment the installed app contacts a server.
04 How these apps are built
All three are built using Claude Code, an AI coding tool from Anthropic. This is a statement about how the software was written, not about your data: Anthropic receives nothing when you use the app, and is not involved in running it. The consequences of building software this way are described in the Terms of Use.
05 What data is collected
Android app (Google Play) and iOS app (App Store)
None. The app does not collect, transmit off your device, or share any personal or usage data. We cannot identify or contact you through the app.
Web app (PWA)
XLNTY does not collect, store or log any information about you. There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no cookies. No account is required and nothing you do in the app is transmitted anywhere.
Two things are stored on your own device, and nowhere else:
- your chosen language;
- a record that you accepted the Terms of Use, and for which version.
If you install the app, a copy of its files and images is also stored on your device so it can work offline. You can remove all of it by uninstalling the app or clearing the site's data in your browser.
However, delivering a web app over the internet unavoidably involves other companies. The following services receive limited technical information:
| Service | When | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (CloudFront, S3) — hosting | Whenever files are downloaded: first visit, install, and each update check | Your IP address, your browser and operating system (User-Agent), which file was requested, the date and time, and connection details |
| Only when installing on an Android device using Chrome | The app's web address and its icons | |
| Your DNS provider | Whenever you open the app online | The address of the site you are contacting |
None of this is requested by XLNTY, and no access logs are kept. It is the ordinary technical consequence of loading a page from the internet, and it is the same information any website you visit receives.
About the Google step on Android. When you install a web app on Android, Chrome does not build the installable package on your phone. It sends the app's address and icons to a Google server, which generates a signed Android package and returns it to be installed. This is how Chrome installs any web app, it is outside XLNTY's control, and it means Google learns that a device installed this app. It happens at installation only — not while you use the app afterwards. If you would rather avoid this, you can use the web app in your browser without installing it; it works the same, it simply will not run offline.
06 Permissions
Android and iOS apps. The app requests no runtime permissions — no internet, no storage access, no location, no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no phone state, no notifications. If your device's OS reports otherwise for this app, please tell us at contact@xlnty.com.
Web app. A web app cannot request the OS permissions above. It runs inside your browser's sandbox and has access only to what the browser itself grants any web page.
07 Internet — offline by design
Android and iOS apps. Fully self-contained and do not access the internet. All content — ranks, insignia images, descriptive text — is bundled inside the installation. Nothing is uploaded or downloaded while you use the app. You can verify this at the OS level (Android's data-usage screen will show 0 bytes for the app; you can also block network access for it entirely, and it will keep working identically).
Web app. The web app must be downloaded from the internet on first visit and, if you install it, on manual update checks (see section 03). Once installed, it runs entirely offline. The runtime touchpoints with third parties are set out in section 05.
08 Data stored on your device
Android and iOS apps. So the app can remember your preferences between sessions, it saves a few small settings only on your device:
- whether you have accepted the Terms of Use;
- your chosen interface language (French / Dutch);
- your in-app preferences (for example, which display mode you last used).
This information never leaves your device, is never sent to us or to any third party, and is not used to identify you. You can erase it at any time by clearing the app's data through your device's settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Web app. The browser stores, on your device only, your chosen language and a record that you accepted the Terms of Use (with the version). When a newer Terms version is accepted, the older record is removed, so exactly one exists at a time. If you install the app, the browser also keeps a cache of the app's files and images (roughly a few megabytes) so it can work offline. There are no cookies and no other browser storage. You can clear all of it via your browser's "site data" controls, or by uninstalling the app.
09 Analytics, tracking, advertising
The app contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no cookies, and no third-party SDKs that could profile you. There are no in-app purchases, no ads, and no monetisation mechanisms of any kind. This is true of all three forms of the app.
10 Sharing with third parties
XLNTY shares no data with anyone — because we collect none. As explained in section 05, delivering the web app over the internet does mean that standard infrastructure operators (Amazon Web Services, and — for Android installs via Chrome — Google, plus whichever DNS resolver you use) unavoidably see the technical details of your request. That is not sharing on our part; no access logs are retained, and nothing about your identity or usage is passed on.
11 App-store distribution
When you install this app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, that transaction is between you and the store operator under their own privacy policies. XLNTY receives only the aggregate, non-identifying statistics the store makes available to developers (for example, total install counts by country, and anonymised crash reports if the OS decides to send them). We do not receive your name, your account details, or your device identifiers from these statistics.
12 Your rights under the GDPR
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent over any personal data processed about you. Because this app processes no personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, rectify, or erase — the rights are therefore inapplicable in practice, not withdrawn. You retain full control over the app's local settings via your device (see section 08).
If you nevertheless consider that our handling of the app infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian data-protection authority:
Rue de la Presse 35 · 1000 Bruxelles
autoriteprotectiondonnees.be · gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be
13 Children
Because the app collects no data whatsoever, contains no advertising, and has no in-app purchases, it is safe for users of any age. We do not knowingly process personal data from children.
14 Governing law
This policy is governed by Belgian law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Any dispute concerning it falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Brussels.
15 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy in future versions of the app. The date at the top of this page reflects when the current version was published. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be summarised in the app itself on next launch.
